Launched by serial entrepreneur Steven Ho, 91APP works with brands in an ‘App-as-a-Service’ model, where brands pay a small setup fee to get their own m-commerce-enabled iOS and Android apps built and published. Brands then manage the merchandises, prices and content shown in these apps, while 91APP takes care of the technical end. When a purchase is made through the apps, it takes an additional 2.5-5 per cent charge on the transactions, shared an official release.
It currently claims to have 1,000 brands on its platform.
Jamie Lin, Partner, AppWorks said, “The beauty of 91APP’s App-as-a-Service model is that it enables brands to tap into mobile much faster and at much lower cost, while making sure their apps stay up-to-date under 91APP’s continuous support. This model solves all the major problems brands face today as they mobilise.”
